Educational Therapist for Gifted Children Job Description

Job Brief: SAGE Center for Gifted is a premier consulting, assessment, educational, and clinical services center supporting families of gifted and twice-exceptional children. Our all-inclusive Center provides an integrative array of services with skilled practitioners in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, gifted education, counseling, occupational and speech, and language therapy. This multidisciplinary array of professionals works in close collaboration in our team-based model to provide seamless, holistic care in a family systems approach, leading to significant growth and progress and changing the trajectory for these children so they may walk with an authentic sense of well-being, ready to share their extraordinary gifts in the world in profound and significant ways.

As a rapidly expanding organization with multiple locations, we are seeking a full-time Educational Therapist to support our team in Colorado or California.

Job Responsibilities

The Educational Therapist will provide 1:1 individualized support to children and adolescents in the cognitive/academic, affective, and regulatory domains. We are especially looking for experienced teachers with a strong understanding of how to navigate the traits and complexities of gifted and twice exceptional students, including but not limited to:

  • ●  Anxiety

  • ●  Perfectionism

  • ●  ADHD

  • ●  Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • ●  Dyslexia/Dysgraphia

  • ●  Social/Emotional skills

  • ●  Executive Functions

  • ●  Asynchronous development

    Additional job responsibilities include:

  • ●  Maintaining a client caseload of 12-14 students

  • ●  Creation of support plans with cognitive/academic, affective, and regulatory goals

  • ●  Writing weekly and monthly session summaries

  • ●  Collaborating with teachers and school team

    Job Skills & Qualifications

  • ●  Master’s degree in education, gifted education preferred

  • ●  Teacher Licensure in Colorado or California

  • ●  Experience working with gifted students and understanding of the traits of this profile

  • ●  Warm and welcoming intra- and inter-personal skills

  • ●  Ability to work in a collaborative manner in our team-based approach

  • ●  Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • ●  Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • ●  Proficient in the use of technology, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

    Salary: Commensurate with background and experience, range of $45-50,000

Clinical Therapist for Gifted Children~ Job Description

Job Responsibilities

The Clinical Therapist will provide outpatient individual therapy for children and adolescents. This professional will also provide family therapy and parent coaching/guidance. We are especially looking for clinicians with experience in a family systems approach, with training in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as play therapy, and expertise in the following clinical areas:

  • Clinical Traits & Overexcitabilities of Gifted

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Mood Disorders

  • ADHD

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s in counseling psychology or related field

  • Professional Counselor Licensure in Colorado

  • Clinical expertise in therapy for gifted children and adolescents

  • Warm and welcoming intra- and inter-personal skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner in our team-based approach

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Clinical Psychotherapists

Requirements include 3-5 years experience in child and adolescent therapy, family therapy; knowledge base with a focus on gifted preferred.

Hours are flexible, structured as an independent contractor. Payment commensurate with training and experience.


Ph.D Level
Clinical Psychologists

Requirements include 3-5 years experience in child and adolescent assessment; knowledge base with a focus on gifted preferred.

Master's Level
Teachers

Requirements include 3-5 years experience teaching gifted students, educational degree and licensure in gifted education preferred.

Hours are flexible and payment commensurate with training and experience.
